Stefan Giftthaler is the type of photographer that can photograph fashion editorials one minute and produce an extraordinary artistic piece the next. His photographic talent crosses the spectrum from client-driven photographs to abstract and experimental images. Either way he is up there with the best of them and never fails to impress.

I would describe his images as charming; they have an almost fairytale quality to them. The collection of images that appear in issue seven of Schön! are mysterious and airy, they start to merge the boundaries of fashion and abstract photography. The collection featured in issue seven, named Lidia are classic and beautifully set amongst nature. The contrast between the softness of the setting and the blurred effects Stefan uses on his photographs compared to the harsh makeup, dark wardrobe and strong posses created by the model, Lidia, work wonderfully together to form these magical images that make you feel like you’ve left the real world and entered a dreamland. His modest images have an outstanding way of telling a story which gives them a timeless quality that few fashion photographers manage to achieve.

Stefan Giftthaler has a great way of creating an all round beautiful image without distracting the viewer from the model who is ultimately the focal point of the photograph. Stefan is not only creating superb fashion photographs he is transforming them into works of art.

A handful of prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Numero have featured photographs by Jannis Tsipoulanis. The internationally acclaimed photographer believes that fashion is in his blood and uses photography as a way to express himself and his yearning for fashion.

Every one of his photographs tells a story, as a conceptual photographer Jannis wants to be able to communicate with the viewer through all of his photographs whether it is abstract or ordinary. Either way each photograph is carefully thought out and planned to produce clear and beautiful images.

Jannis has featured several times in Schön! Magazine and constantly delivers new and exciting images. Not conforming to one style of photography it is interesting to see the contrast between his two shoots that feature in the latest edition of Schön!. The first shoot to feature in the Schön! Magazine is a colourful, vibrant and slightly sultry collection of photographs featuring ford model Samuel Daynie. His images come across as being stern but they are ultimately visually stimulating and intriguing. It is the second shoot that really captures your attention; the feminine and extremely sexy shoot is simplistic but effective and graces the cover of the seventh edition of Schön!.

You can see from his photographs that his images reflects his work process, where he likes to keep his thoughts clear to get the truest image he can. Jannis uses electronic music helps him do this, it’s abstract music that doesn’t transmit any messages to disrupt his work process.
